Jimmie “Bo” Horne who had everyone singing: “Let’s Do It, Let’s Dance, Let’s Dance Across the Floor” in the ‘70s is back in the music scene with a new sound, and soon to be released in the year 2003.

Regarded as one of the original architects of the Miami Dance Sound. Mr. Horne played an integral part in defining pop music with hit after hit spanning two decades.

Jimmie took the popularity in Soul/R&B and Disco to the top of the charts in the “70s and “80s, after signing with Miami’s TK Records. In 1973, he released the hit “Clean Up Man” in Germany. The success of the disco feeding frenzy that followed in the states. His various Billboard hits become club standards, picked up by television producers and used on Soul Train, as well as American Bandstand and a number of sitcoms.

His release “Gimme Some” went gold in 1975, and was followed by the Billboard hit single “Dance Across the Floor” in 1978 that went double gold. Other Billboard hits include “Spank,” “You Get Me Hot,” “Get Happy,” and “Is It In,” It was during this period that Horne shaped what became known as “The Miami Sound.”

Jimmie a part of the disco movement elite and struck up working relationships with some of the biggest names in the industry while performing with artists such as KC & the Sunshine Band, Maxi Priest, Bob Marley, and The Bee Gees. “It was one of the greatest times in my life says Horne.” Everything was live and you had to have a good band… there was a kind of rivalry amongst the bands the perpetuated perfection.
After taking his hit music to Europe in the ‘80s and releasing several albums
on European labels in Italy, Holland, Belgium and Germany with a coinciding Europeans tour of live performances in Spain, Finland, Austria, Iceland, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, France, Italy, and the UR. Jimmie is back home in the US with a recently released album “Gonna Be Your Lover,” and working on a new dance album.

Betty Wright, a singer known as one of the most successful pioneers in R&B music and coach to such artists as Gloria Estefan, says “she discovered Jimmie at a show they were both doing in Riviera Beach. “I was afraid to follow him on the bill, he reminded me of the James Brown Band.” Wright says, “I don’t think there is anybody better on stage.” After the dance music craze peaked in the early ‘80s. Horne drifted back to his roots in the R&B market with a feel of his dance groove, and it lets people know that “Jimmie is back”.

“James Brown taught me you are only as good as your last performance.”
Horne proclaimed. “You’ve got to keep working on new material and come in like a pit bull.” Now, some years later, like a pit bull, Jimmie is back in the studio recording all new music, which he feels confident, his fans and the worls will love. The hard driving beat of his dance music he is steering his latest project, which blends flavor of yesteryear with the style of tomorrow, in a different but equally successful direction. Morever, this latest work highlights the tenacity and professionalism that put him at the top, combining the artistry of the past with a fresh approach for the new millennium.

Recent releases include Jimmie’s “The Greatest Hit Remixes” which was released in March 98’ by Hot Productions and has incredible sales throughout Europe.

In addition, Bo’s “GIMME SOME” the best TK years 1975-85, was released in May 98’ by Westside Records (EMI) out of London. Tony Rounce of Westside Records said that “this is their best selling compilation album the year of 1998.

In May 98, Mr. Horne hosted the “Studio 54” salute party at The Living Room Nightclub on Miami Beach, Florida, along with Supermodel Hunter Reno (Janet Reno’s niece) for Ocean Drive Magazine and WAMI/TV. In addition his smash hit “Spank” was a featured song in the blockbuster movie “Studio 54” while his song “Is It In” was sampled into the “Rush Hour” Movie Soundtrack by recording artist “Kasinoi.”

Furthermore, the remix by DeMenace of Jimmie’s “Spank” (78’ Gold Record) was released August 98’ and hit #4 on the UK Dance Charts within
the first week. Jimmie’s Gold Record “Gimme Some” was in the Italian
Movie “La Fame e la Sete” and on the soundtrack released in April 99.

Jimmie “Bo” Horne is a living legend and continues to be deeply involved in the music and entertainment business in many ways!
